I love Green Tea, whether its hot, or mixed as a smoothie, or however the heck you like it, its delicious. Besides the fact that I feel fancy drinking it, I have also learned that it is super healthy! Who knew this beverage could have so many health benefits, from speeding up your metabolism, helps with wrinkles, anti-viral, and PREVENTS CANCER???? Yes, green tea is definitely good for you... but don't believe all the hype you hear on the media. Some researchers believe green tea may protect against certain types of cancer because it contains antioxidants. Unfortunately though, for green tea to begin preventing cancer, you need to drink at least a minimum of 5 cups per day. Green tea contains a chemical which sometimes is called, epigallocatechin-3-gallate, or commonly known as EGCG. EGCG may help cause certain types of cancer cells to die in much the same way that normal cells do. This effect is important because cancer cells are different from normal cells in that they do not die when they should. With all this said, definitely continue or begin drinking green tea, as it is healthy for you, but you need a large quantity to begin fighting off cancer.
